Yesterday I upgraded from Opera 6.2 to Opera 8.5 for Symbian 60 on my Nokia 6600. Since I had previously purchased an Opera license key, the upgrade was free. Indeed there are several notable improvements. Key being a password manager, much faster exit (6.2 takes forever to exit), and it appears to render a bit faster. They claim up to 25%. Worth the upgrade.
