Two years ago I took two months off and went out west to explore the mountains.
Just as I was driving back from San Francisco along US 1 down the coast line, I decided to visit Sequoia National Park. While there and quite by accident, I met a group of guys who were going on an 8 day cross country backpacking trip the next day. I decided to join them.
It turns out they do this trip every year during the same week in August. Although every year there are two or three new guys, and some others don't come, there is always a core crew. This group has become known as the "Wolff Pack".
This year I joined them for the 3rd time. We went backpacking in the Ansel Adams Wilderness of California in an area known as The Minarets. It is just south of Yosemite.
Using the geocaching and annotation capabilities of Flickr, I have put together an on-line photo album of this trip. You can visit The 2006 Wolff Pack album on Flickr. You can also see the photos for last year's trip, The 2005 Wolff Pack album.
