Last.fm - The social music revolution

The above is a real-time list of the last three tracks that I listened to on my computer.

Last.fm is this service that keeps track of what you listen to on your computer and then lets you track it in various ways, share those lists with other users, find other music based on your listening habits, recommend events in your area, etc.

It works by installing a fairly non-intrusive program on your computer that keeps track of this stuff and uploads it to the server. Last.fm calls this Scrobbling. What's nice is that software is available for Windows, OS X (Apple/Mac), lots of Linux distros, and is open source, thereby virtually guaranteeing that someone will port and make it available for any other platform you may want to listen to music on.

Furthermore, with a tiny bit of HTML code, you can put live charts of your listening history on your website. I've done this on my Music->History page.
